Do You Really Need Travel Insurance?
(spoiler alert… you do).
Finding a suitable travel insurance policy to cover any trip is not an easy task. The challenge is even bigger when going on a dive trip. Divers are not always aware of their special insurance needs as well of the specific knowledge and experience that is required when treating diving accidents in remote destinations, often with insufficient local medical knowledge.
Trip cancellation and non-refundable expenses
Cancelling a trip at the last minute can feel devastating, but if you have good travel insurance that handles cancellations, those non-refundable expenses won’t come back to haunt you. Whether you’re stuck in an airport due to mechanical failure or a storm blows away your chances of sailing, that insurance can reimburse you for those cancelled flights, hotels, or anything else you may have paid for that isn’t refundable. Put simply, travel insurance lets you come out ahead and not lose money on things beyond your control. So, while it may be one more step to add to your pre-vacation checklist, trust us – it will save your wallet in the long run.
Sickness or injury while travelling
When it comes to illness or injury away from home, it’s always best to be prepared. Did you know that if anything happens, you could well be paying medical bills out of your pocket? What about a decompression incident, causing a serious injury? You need medical attention that might not be covered by your regular health insurance!

With travel and diving insurance, you’ll have the assurance and peace of mind knowing you’re covered. No matter what land or sea mishap comes your way; you shouldn’t be breaking your budget.
Lost or stolen luggage
Let’s be honest, nobody wants to suffer the stress of luggage being lost or stolen while travelling. It really makes it hard to experience the sights and sounds of your destination. Also, it can take away your precious tried, tested, and super comfortable personal dive equipment. Thankfully, travel insurance can help ease your worries and replace items that have gone missing.

Whether it’s clothing, a camera, diving equipment, or anything else in your suitcase that you last saw at the airport; travel insurance can provide financial assistance for replacing them. This makes it easier, and cheaper, to continue with your trip and make new memories.
Travel insurance gives you peace of mind
When things go wrong on the road, imagine how much worse it would be to figure things out on your own. Isn’t it better to be covered with a trusted insurance company? Don’t let an unexpected event ruin your holiday! Travel insurance is the best way to ensure that, should anything go wrong, you can get home safely and still have enough money left to enjoy your holiday.
